The Organizing Committee of the V National Symposium on Forest Fires, which will be held from 6 to 10 November 2012 in the Auditorium of the Mediterranean in La Nucia (Alicante Spain), has opened a special period for submission of abstracts to participate in the V SINIF. From 9 to 27 of July, all professionals and researchers who are interested in contributing their work or experience should send their proposals to: firstname.lastname@example.org , in the template that V SINIF Organization has provided for that purpose, following the "Job submission rules", which can be viewed and downloaded on the official website of the event: www.sinif.es.
The V National Symposium on Forest Fires has an International Scientific Committee, composed of renowned scientists and professionals of the forestry and emergencies, such as Dr. Johann G. Goldammer (Director of the Global Fire Monitoring Center and Coordinator of the Global Wildland Fire Network, University of Freiburg, Germany), Dr. Martin E. Alexander (member of the board of the International Association of Wildland Fire and researcher at the University of Alberta, Canada), Dr. Ernesto Alvarado (Research Professor of Fire Sciences Laboratory Pacific Forestry at the University of Washington in Seattle USA), Dr Gavriil Xanthopoulos (Laboratory of Forest Ecosystems and Forest Fires National Agricultural Research Foundation-NAGREF, Athens, Greece), Dr. Domingos X. Viegas (ADAI - University of Coimbra, Portugal), Dr. Herbert Haltenhoff (National Chief and Forest Fire Management Fire Management of the National Forest - CONAF, Chile), Dr. Jan Holecy (Department of Forest Economics and Management Technical University Svolen, Slovakia), Dr. Francisco Rodríguez y Silva (Director of the Laboratory of Forest Fire Protection, University of Cordoba), Dr. Ricardo Vélez (member of the Spanish Society of Sciences Forestry), Dr. Inmaculada Paz Andrade (researcher at the University of Santiago de Compostela), Dr. Jorge Olcina Cantos (director of the Laboratory of Climatology at the University of Alicante), Dr. Jorge Mataix Solera (Member of Group Environmental Soil Science Department of Agrochemistry and Environment, University Miguel Hernandez, and FuegoRed coordinator) and Dr. José Luis Soto Legido (researcher at the Department of Applied Physics, University of Vigo). Also, representatives of professional institutions, such as D. Javier Navarrete (fire officer and Chairman of the Technical Professional Association of Fire- APTB), and delivery services such as D. Francisco Tejedor (Task Force responsible for the Forest Fire Research of the Generalitat Valenciana) and D. Fco José Cerdá (fire officer of the Provincial of Alicante).
Since V SINIF Organizing Committee, we encourage all researchers and professionals related to forest fires to send us their proposals.
